Before School Childcare from 7.30 am.

All children are offered breakfast up to 8.30 am which usually includes cereal, porridge, toast, fresh fruit and juice or water. Children are able to use a range of resources to initiate play and our staff will facilitate play and creative activities. Tidy up time takes place around 10 minutes before the start of the school day and children are escorted to the class teachers or lines (depending on individual school arrangements).

After School Childcare until 6.00 pm.

The after-school session begins as school ends and children are collected from their class teachers (in accordance with school arrangements). After a register check children are free to play with a range of resources or take part in adult led activities. Where weather permits outdoor play is available together with suitable outdoor toys. The range of indoor resources range from table games, games console, books, creative resources, construction and imaginative play. Staff or children may also lead whole group games. A snack is usually served around 4 o'clock which can range from Beans on Toast, Soup and Roll, Pasta Bolognese, Sandwiches or similar. Fresh fruit and water is available at all times. Our service closes at 6.00 pm

We are open from 7.30 am until 6.00 pm.

The play-scheme includes breakfast, a nutritional lunch and healthy afternoon snack each day depending on the actual hours that children are in attendance. In addition children will be able to help themselves to fresh fruit and refreshments throughout the day.

Each holiday play-scheme has one or more theme which many activities are based upon. As well as the same play opportunities and activities that are offered as part of the before and after school service, we also have outings and trips to places of interest as well as special feature days focussed on activities such as dancing, art, sport and health awareness.

School holiday childcare is open to all families and children regardless of the school they attend. To book parents/carers should submit a booking form from our parent and carer page.

During school holidays we sometimes organise trips for the children to explore a local place of interest. Typically this can be places around the Leeds or Wakefield area and includes Springhead Park, Thwaite Mills, Temple Newsam, Kirkstall Abbey, Radio Aire, YTV, Leeds City Museum and the Hepworth. Such trips are usually for the whole group on a specific date and are usually inclusive but can incur a nominal charge for admission or transport depending on the activity.

During Easter, Summer mid term and Summer holidays we have also organised outings to regional attractions. These trips are optional and usually cost around £12 on top of the daily fee. Such outings in the past have included York Maze, Forbidden Corner, Lego Discovery, Hornsea Beach, John Bull Rock Factory and National Football Museum. The supplementary fee covers all workshops and activities, admission fees, transport and supplementary staffing.

“It's great to come to FunZone. School holidays are much more fun when I spend them with my friends doing all the brilliant activities we do at FunZone and we really like going on trips.” Erin (aged 9), August 2015
